I was a lab technician in a biomedical/molecular biology research lab at a large university. Through part-time jobs as a grader and tutor, I discovered the joys of teaching. Recently, I went back to school and earned a Masters degree and teaching certification. Now I'm a full time teacher. Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line if you want.

From the page: "A Komodo mother's eggs each contains half of her genetic information, and has attached to it a 'polar body' -- a smaller version of the main egg, containing a copy of the same genetic information. Normally, the polar body would wither away and sperm would make up the full set of chromosomes required for the embryo; in parthenogenesis the polar body is reabsorbed into the egg." A whole thread about this can be viewed at Ball-Pythons.net (http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40296&page=1&pp=10) and at Vemondoc (http://www.venomdoc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=868).
